We are an interdisciplinary group, allied to but independent from the International Neuropsychoanalysis Association (https://npsa-association.org/). Members come from across the clinical and scientific disciplines: psychotherapists, academics, neuroscientists, psychoanalysts, physiotherapists, psychiatrists, neurologists, psychologists, doctors. What happens when people with such different trainings sit down together to discuss practice and ideas is unusual. The level of openness that becomes possible is remarkable, perhaps because no single discipline can claim the territory as its own.
We hope to extend that openness to our meetings, perhaps returning to some of the experimental and less programmatic thinking that one sees playing out in the early days of our disciplines. Thinking of the recent Seurat exhibition in London: what it might be like to consider things together with that kind of luminous intensity?
